A rather special find for collectors of Japanese whisky – Yamazaki's 2017 Limited Edition! Combining multiple single malt vintages, matured in a variety of casks before being expertly married by Suntory’s chief Master Blender Shinji Fukuyo.

Following the success of the Distillers Reserve editions of Hakushu and Yamazaki, they have decided to release an older, more exclusive limited edition of the Yamazaki single malt.

The 2017 Limited Edition is a marriage of various vintage distillations, some of which have been maturing in their European Oak casks for over 20 years.

Tasting Notes 

Nose : Raspberry syrup, bananas, honey sweetness, fruit leather, mixed berries

Palate : Honey, cherries, sandalwood, herbal, banana, molasses

Finish : Medium, thick and rich finish with notes of banana sweetness, honey, and a bit of wood spice

About Yamazaki

The Yamazaki Distillery, established in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii as Japan's first malt whisky distillery, is the birthplace of Japanese whisky, a result of Torii's vision to create a unique whisky using a Japanese climate and pure water sources. After sending Masataka Taketsuru to learn from Scottish whisky masters, Yamazaki began production in 1924, laying the foundation for Suntory's now world-famous Japanese whiskies. The distillery's success was cemented by international acclaim, including Yamazaki Sherry Cask 2013 winning World Whisky of the Year, bringing global recognition to Japanese whisky.
