Glengoyne 26 Year Old Spirit of Time Travel Retail Exclusive (2024) 70cl

This limited edition matured 26 years in Oloroso casks to be filled into just 1.400 bottles.

“We are delighted to introduce to global travel retail The Spirit of Time, a collection which captures the very essence of Glengoyne, Scotland’s slowest distilled malt whisky,” says Ian Macleod Distillers Global Travel Retail Director, William Ovens.

The collection, which launches exclusively with World Duty Free UK stores for the month of April, before roll out to other select global airport outlets. Includes two new expressions: Glengoyne 10 Year Old first-fill edition and Glengoyne 15 Year Old Pedro Xíménez Cask Edition. The full collection will also include Glengoyne 26 Year Old, details to follow soon.

The collection was carefully created to showcase the exceptional casks used to mature Glengoyne Distillery’s unique spirit. The collection is presented in distinctive gift packs, sporting embossed descriptors and the signature of Glengoyne Distillery Manager, Robbie Hughes.

Built in 1833, what is now known as Glengoyne is a Highland distillery so close to the Lowland region border that its warehouses across the road actually fall into the latter geographical category. The distillery was owned by the Lang Brothers for 89 years, who used it as provision for their blends. In that time it was also important to those of Robertson & Baxter, who would eventually acquire the site in 1966, and bottled it as a single malt for the first time in the 1970s. It was not until the 1990s that the single malt brand became the distillery’s main focus however. An eventual restructuring by Robertson & Baxter’s parent company, Edrington, saw its operations quieted, and Glengoyne was sold to Ian Macleod Distillers in 2003.
