14 year old single cask from the Auchroisk Distillery, independently bottled by the fine folks at North Star Spirits. Distilled in 2006, this spent its time in a refill hogshead, before finishing in an ex-Oloroso cask, and was bottled in 2021. A great example of the sweet and herbal style of whisky produced at Auchroisk. There was an outturn of 264 bottles from this cask.

Built in the early 1970's, most Auchroisk is used in blending, so it is nice to see a single cask bottling from North Star independent bottlers. You don't see much Auchroisk finished in sherry casks, so definitely an intriguing one. 1 of 264 bottles.

Tasting Notes

Nose Gently floral, with wafts of treacle toffee and mixed nuts.

Palate Pleasantly sweet and soft with floral citrusy notes, progressing to a herbaceous, grassy profile.

Finish Mouth coating, gently sweet cereal, lemon peels and hints of licorice.
