Chichibu Ichiro's Malt On The Way 2019 Release Single Malt Japanese Whisky 70cl

This is the third edition of Chichibu On the Way. This 2019 edition consists of 52 casks of whisky aged between 5 and 10 years.

These casks are mainly first-fill ex-bourbon casks, but there are also some second-fill Chibidaru casks, as well as some Mizunara (Japanese oak) hogsheads and some peated whisky.

Chichibu Distillery

It isn’t often that we cover two distilleries when talking about just one name, but there are indeed two Chichibu distilleries located two minutes apart from each other and still in the same town. The original site is very compact, keeping production to around 53,000 litres per year. The second site is four times as big producing 264,000 litres per year. As is the case with all Japanese whisky, large distillery or small, supply and demand are the two biggest headaches. The team at Chichibu do what they can to share their stock with everyone.
