Dewar's 30 Year Old blend is the perfect marriage of some of the distillery’s oldest whiskies, and spent a lovely finishing period in Spanish Pedro Ximinez sherry butts. This expression was released by Dewar’s in 2015 and was offered for travel retail markets only, so it’s not easy to get your hands on one.

John Dewar & Sons, a prominent wine merchant based in Perth, decided to venture into single malt whisky distillation in the 1890s and built Aberfeldy on the site of an old brewery. The distillery quickly became integral to the production of Dewar’s blend.

The distillery was refurbished in 1973 to increase capacity and was also acquired by DCL. In 1998 the distillery was purchased by Bacardi. The first Aberfeldy single malt, a 12 year old, was released the following year.

Today, Aberfeldy is the home of Dewar’s World of Whisky visitors centre
