The Obscurities & Curiosities is a collection created by North Star Spirits to accommodate all the extraordinary oddities that they come across as an independent bottler. This single malt was distilled at the Glentauchers distillery, located near Keith in the Speyside region of Scotland in March 2008, aged for 14 years and bottled at natural cask strength, without chill-filtration or artificial colouring.

This 14-year-old Glentauchers 2008 was matured in Oloroso sherry wood and was bottled at its extremely poky natural cask strength of 58.2%. Glentauchers is one of the most important malt whiskies for owner Chivas's Ballantine's blend, so official bottlings are thin on the ground, but this heavily sherried edition looks like another massive hit for North Star's Obscurities and Curiosities series.
