This whisky has a unique nose of light fruitiness with a light Lagavulin smoke , complimented by surprisingly sharp in the mouth, ex bourbon and heavily charred Lagavulin on the palate, and topped off by a medium length and rather earthy finish.
This whisky has a unique nose of mild, clear and dry overall, with quite some prickles! slow to rise, the first notes to emerge are maritime, suggesting salt crystals, iodine and dry seaweed. in the background, gentle smoke hints at coal dust and peat ash, joined after a while by a faint carbolic note, complimented by a creamy-smooth , mouth-filing, and surprisingly full-bodied texture bringing forth a sweet initial taste with a mouth-watering appeal, soon becoming lightly salty, with fast-growing, billowing smoke on the palate, and topped off by a medium length, with more smoke and hot white peppery spiciness, finishing dry. it comes lightly saltier with a sash of water, yet the pepper still punches through to finish.

Lagavulin distillery is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Lagavulin on the island of Islay, Scotland.
The standard Lagavulin single malt is 16 years old (43%), though they regularly release a 12-year-old cask strength variety, a Distiller's edition finished in Pedro Ximénez casks and 25- and 30-year-old varieties.
Lagavulin was owned by United Distillers & Vintners, which has now become part of Diageo plc.
The name of Lagavulin is an anglicization of the Gaelic lag a'mhuilin, meaning "hollow by the mill".
