It is rare to find single casked Bowmore and even more so at 18 years at 57 + percent. This is the dream dram token stuff that we do not usually get to see. The older the Bowmore the more spectacular.

This single cask was distilled at the Bowmore Distillery on the Island of Islay on the 3rd of April 1989 and matured in sherry wood until it was bottled in May 2007 at a strength of 57.4% ABV.

Lorne Mackillop is a descendant of one of the survivors of the massacre of the Mackillop Clan at the hands of the English redcoats in 1745. Lorne is heir to the head of the Mackillop Clan.

He is a Master of Wine of which there are very few worldwide and he has used his extensive training and skill in the choice of fine Scotch whiskies. With this expertise, he has selected the finest single casks of Malt Whisky. It is from one of these casks that this bottle has been taken and Lorne is pleased it bears his family's name.
