A 2007 Bunnahabhain single malt from indie bottler Douglas Laing, matured in a single refill hogshead for 12 years, before being bottled in December 2019 as part of its Old Particular series. Aromas of buttery toast and tangy marmalade mingle with oak char and sea salt on the nose. The palate offers notes of smoky, barbecued pineapple, cookie dough and old leather, that linger beside toffee and orange rind in the finish.

A fruity, cereally dram with hints of earth and a delicious honeycomb note, this 15-year-old Bunna looks like tremendous value.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Buttery toast with tangy marmalade developing to oak char and a pinch of sea salt

Palate: A very slightly smoky style with barbecued pineapple, cookie dough and old leather

Finish: Roasted malt lingers alongside toffee, spiced oak, salted caramel and orange rind (CSL)
