Highland Park 13 Year Old 2008 Duncan Taylor Octave Cask Strength #5029787 Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (2021) 70cl

1 of 59 bottles only.

Distilled at Highland Park distillery in 2008 before being bottled at 13 years old from cask no. 5029787 by Duncan Taylor for their Octave range. Octaves produce not many bottles from a cask at all.

You don't see too many indie Highland Parks, and as Duncan Taylor's Octave casks are by definition extremely small, there's only 59 bottles of this one, making it even more scarce and precious.

This 2008 vintage Highland Park started life in a bourbon cask before a seven month brief encounter in the sherry octave which, judging by the colour, managed to pack in quite a lot of meaningful influence in its allotted span.

As with the rest of Duncan Taylor's Octave series, this 13-year-old Highland Park 2008 has been bottled at its natural cask strength of 55.2%. Please note that this Duncan Taylor Highland Park 2008 is Maximum 1 Bottle Per Customer.

About Highland Park

Welcome to Scotland’s most northerly distillery situated on Orkney a large Island of the coast of northern Scotland. In the 18th century an infamous smuggler called Magnus Eunson operated an illicit distillery. When Magnus was caught one of the men who captured him was excise officer John Robertson who took over the running of the distillery in 1816.The distillery was founded in the 1790’s so this makes it one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland. Every part of production here was done by hand and even today Highland Park still take time and hardwork by producing malted barley with tradition floor maltings. Highland Park is now owned by the Edrington Group and William Grant & Sons, it produces 2,500,000 litres of whisky annually. The distillery now has a very good visitors centre which was awarded 5 stars as a recognised attraction.

Valfather celebrates the rich Nordic ancestry Highland Park has in Orkney, their island home and once part of the vast Viking Kingdom. Valfather, named after Norse God Odin is the most highly peated whisky so far from Highland Park.
