The Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask is a well-balanced and complex single malt Scotch whisky that has been aged for a minimum of 12 years in two different types of oak casks. The first cask is made from sherry seasoned American oak, while the second cask is made from sherry seasoned European oak. The use of two different types of oak casks gives this whisky its distinctive flavour profile. American oak imparts sweet and creamy vanilla flavours, while the European oak casks add spicy and fruit notes. It is bottled at 40% ABV and is non-chill filtered.

12 Year Old Double Cask

The introduction of the Double Cask series in 2018 marked the distillery's triumphant return to age-statement expressions following the, let's generously say, "mixed" reception of its 1824 series. This bottling is the marriage of sherry-seasoned American Oak and European Oak.

A well established classic that one cannot go wrong with. Either for drinking or presents.
