A very significant whisky indeed. Mars was out of production since 1992 and then revived in 2011. This bottle commemorates that revival. Three years old and Lightly peated to 8 ppm, this was matured in a bourbon cask.

Nestled among the picturesque mountains of Nagano, the Shinshu Mars Distillery has been creating waves in the world of Japanese whisky. The Mars Komagatake Limited Edition 2020, bottled for the discerning palate as part of the Limited Edition 2020 series, is a testament to the distillery's commitment to excellence. Distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2020, this expression showcases the art of maturation, having spent time in both Sherry casks and American White Oak casks. With a refined 50% ABV, this limited edition release is a harmonious blend of Japanese craftsmanship and the influence of diverse cask types.

Tasting Notes 

Nose : Aromas of ripe pear, apple blossom and lemon peel, combined with subtle notes of honey and toasted oak. Slightly Bubblegummy

Palate : Rich layers of candied citrus, vanilla and a hint of ginger. A delicate spiciness and a slightly smoky undertone make the taste experience complex and refined.

Finish : Long and warming, with notes of caramel, roasted nuts and a hint of peppery spice.
