As has become an annual tradition, Mars releases a vintage edition of its Komagatake and Tsunuki whiskies each year - and we now have first look at the Kagoshima-based Tsunuki 2024 Edition, which will be made primarily of ex-Bourbon matured whiskies produced at Tsunuki.
As with past years' release of the Tsunuki, this new edition has been kept at 50% ABV, and once again features a key aspect of the distillery, with the upcoming label focused on Tsunuki's distillation pot stills.
Tasting Notes
Nose : Red butter, tart cake, strawberry jam, orangette, leather. The fragrance is multi-layered with sweet and heavy notes and compote of fruits.
Palate : Full-bodied sweetness, bitter chocolate, cheesecake, blackberry, and bold. Juicy fresh fruit aromas spread behind the full-bodied sweetness.
Finish : Wheat sweetness and fullness, lingers on the palate for a long time.
