Near perfect conditions resulted in a huge harvest, with many considering 2004 to be one of the greatest vintages of recent times.
Unusually mild weather – after a dry spring, the vines flourished in early summer – and exquisitely mature grapes harvested at the perfect stage of ripeness were both in abundance.
Typically, Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage is released after six to eight years on the lees, and this vintage has spent eight years on the lees to broaden the texture and add to its complexity.
