The Taketsuru blend, created by Japanese whisky giant Nikka, contains malt whiskies from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. The expression is named after Nikka founder Masataka Taketsuru. In 1918, he travelled to Scotland to learn the art of whisky making. Upon his return to Japan, he began developing the country’s first genuine whisky.
