Nikka All Malt Japanese Whisky (2015) 70cl
Nikka All Malt Japanese Whisky; a malt rich, smooth dram which is distilled in both types of stills at their Yoichi and Miyagikyou distilleries.
Yoichi and Miyagikyo whisky is blended together.
All Malt is rounded off with some malt whisky distilled in a Coffey still, producing a supple, light and sweet spirit.
The bottling offers up soft plum notes, alongside a little gentle peat smoke, honey, liquorice, vanilla, caramel, a little oak spice, gristy malt, brown sugar, and slight flowers.
A great introduction to Japanese whiskies, this bottling is perfectly balanced and harmonious. The whisky is also presented in a handsome dimpled bottle, recalling the traditional blended Scotch bottles of old.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich, releases notes of cinnamon, chocolate, spices and toasted wood
Palate: Very soft and balanced, creamy, never aggressive, light spice on the finish.
