A new single grain whisky release from the Angus Dundee company (who own Glencadam and Tomintoul). This whisky is produced using a continuous process called the Patent Still technique: in which the spirit is distilled in a column still, allowing for constant production. This grain is made of unmalted wheat for breadiness and body, corn and maize for sweetness, rye for spice, with a small amount of malted barley for depth. They are cooked under steam pressure which draws out the sugars and ensures a smooth sipping whisky. On the nose this whisky has wonderful floral and oaky notes, with a little citrus zing and fresh vanilla. The palate is light, gentle and floral, with vanilla butter and cream. The finish is soft, and light, with a gentle vanilla note lingering. A lovely little grain whisky that makes for a perfect daily drinker.
