An old 1990s bottle of Suntory Special Reserve.
One thing we have learned is that the consistency of what Suntory (Yamazaki or Hakushu) produce is very on point. The meticulousness of the nature of what they have, how they make it, the attitude... it is one of the most honourable examples of trade and business (whisky making too) that we have ever come across.
This tastes like Yamazaki 12 with an old musky taste that makes you want to pour another glass right after you finish the first.
Suntory Special Reserve is a blend of single malts from Yamazaki and Hakushu. Rich and fruity, this is hard to find outside of Japan.
If you look around you will not find many with the selection that Whisky Situation carry for older Japanese whiskies.
