The Whisky Magazine IB Japanese Craft Whiskey Series is a collaboration between bottler Hua Yang and Whisky Magazine.
Released in 2022, three bottlings are available: a 7-year-old Chichibu, a 7-year-old Yuza, and a 4-year-old Sakurao.

TASTING NOTES

Nose : Oily, salty, reminiscent of the coastal line with a sea breeze

Appearance : Dark old gold

Palate : Sweet spices, seaweed, iodine.

Finish : Long and salty

About Sakurao


Founded in 2017 in Sakurao, Hiroshima Prefecture, the distillery combines tradition and innovation. The warehouses benefit from two distinct climates: warm sea spray on one side and cold mountain winds on the other. This gives the whisky a broad and complex aromatic palette. Made from bourbon casks, this bottling was distilled in 2019 and bottled in 2023 at 62.30% ABV.
