A bottle of Aberlour Glenlivet 19 Year Old Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky presented in a crystal decanter with stopper. This was distilled on 15 October 1970, matured in oak wood and bottled by Signatory Vintage. This was imported to the Italian market, we estimate in the late 1980s.

This is decanter number 40; it was bottled from cask numbers 236-239.

Resembles the crystal decanter used aboard the Queen Elizabeth 2 Cruise Ship in the 190s.

Anyone who knows the story of Glenlivet and 1824 knows what others had to go through to get products out there in regards to quality checking.

About Aberlour 

The Aberlour distillery was founded in 1879 by James Fleming, though distillation occurred at the site earlier. A devastating fire in 1898 destroyed much of the distillery and its whisky, but it was promptly rebuilt with modern equipment by Charles Doig. It was sold to S. Campbell & Sons Ltd in 1945 and later became part of the Pernod Ricard group in 1974, which helped establish its strong market presence in France
