Craigellachie 1997-2014 Gordon & Macphail 70cl
Bottled as part of Gordon & MacPhail's Connoisseurs Choice range, this is a 1997 vintage Craigellachie single malt Scotch whisky which was matured in refill American hogshead and refill bourbon barrels until 2014, when it was bottled at 46% ABV.
Tasting Notes
Nose: kiwi, ripe kiwi. Behind it a hint of watermelon, some mango and coconut. A hint of barley malt and some milk chocolate flash through these pleasant fruit tones.
Palate: Powerful, slightly spicy, pepperoni and chili, some very dark chocolate, cocoa butter and Cuban cigars. In between there are kiwi and strawberries, but the fruit aromas hardly stand a chance.
Finish: Long, strong, spicy. With oak, nutmeg and coffee beans.
