The first cask to be bottled for Dalmore's custodians, a concept that was introduced by the distillery for it's followers in 2012. A trio of casks were filled at midnight on January 1st 2000 and gradually released on their 12th, 15th, and 18th birthday's. This is the first 'Millennium Release', bottled in 2012 as a 12 year old. Initiallly matured in an American oak ex-bourbon cask, before being finished in a Matusalem oloroso sherry cask. Nose: sweet, sherry, apples, candied orange Palate: Meaty, mushroom, develops into sweet with a light body Finish: Long, a little bitter, rather alcoholic but fruity at the same time.
Originally only available to Dalmore Custodians, this bottling was aged initially in ex-bourbon American oak before being finish in a Matusalem oloroso sherry cask. Just 421 bottles were released in 2012, with further releases in 2015 and 2018 completing the trio.
Set to cask at midnight on January 1st 2000, the precious liquid has been maturing under the watchful eye of Master Distiller Richard Patterson ever since. The Dalmore Millennium Release is matured initially in American ex-bourbon wood and then transferred into a Matusalem oloroso sherry cask. Bottled in 2012 at its perfect strength and maturity, every bottle deserves to be nurtured by a true custodian.
