Douglas Laing's Old Particular range consists of individually selected malt and grain whiskies from all over Scotland, produced to the highest quality standards. These whiskies are neither cold-filtered nor coloured and are unique with their single cask bottlings. The Old Particular Deanston 25 Years Old matures for 25 years in the Refill Hogshead DL14182. Distilled: June 1994 Bottled: May 2020 Limited to 224 bottles. Tasting notes:Colour: Gold. Nose: Green apples, dried figs, lime juice, coconuts. Taste: lemons, toasted oak, orange marmalade, marshmallows. Finish: Long lasting, cake, cereal, ginger.
Deanston is a medium sized distillery with a capacity of 3 million litres of alcohol per year. It began operating in 1966 in a former cotton mill.
The company says the meter thick of the maturing warehouse create the perfect conditions for ageing whisky regardless of the season. Deasonton is the backbone of the Scottish Leader blend which sells more than 6 million bottles a year, and in recent years the opoularity of the local single malt has been growing.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Fresh, fruity, green apples, gooseberries, figs, limes, coconuts, vanilla, milk fudge, sweet bread and a touch of cinnamon and white pepper
Palate: Vanilla, Honey, Sugared Nuts, Oranges, Coconut flakes, Banana Cake, Notes of Cinnamon, ginger and oak.
Finish: Medium long with notes of sweet bread, candied ginger, hay and oak
