Douglas Laing Old Particular Girvan 19 Year Old 2002-2022 70cl

1 of 230 Bottles

A 19-year-old Girvan 2002 single grain whisky bottled in 2022 by Douglas Laing for their Old Particular range.

As one of Scotland's last working grain whisky distilleries, Girvan is a behemoth, but the majority of its production is used for owner William Grant's blends so indie bottlings like this are rare.

This Old Particular 2002 Girvan came from a single refill hogshead that yielded 230 bottles at 51.5%, and as a 19-year-old grain whisky has just reached the maturation stage where things start to get very interesting.

Tasting Notes

Nose Layers of honeyed cereal, toasted nuts, and buttery oak, with fresh vanilla and distant notes of woody spice.

Palate Juicy apricot, plum, and more creamy vanilla, with soaked oats and sponge cake. A tickle of nutmeg arrives in time.

Finish Cooked apple, ginger biscuits, icing sugar, and orange butter.

51.5% ABV

70cl
