Glenallachie 14 Year Old (2006) Single Cask #1450 (RMW Exclusive) 70cl
GlenAllachie's single malt is marvellous stuff, and lends itself well to maturations in all kinds of casks.
A single cask bottling exclusive to RMW. The Glenallachie Single casks do not disappoint & have become increasingly popular in recent years.
A rising star of the Speyside Region, Glenallachie produces odd numbered year bottles to be a little different including 7,9,11,13 and 17 years.
This is bottled from a puncheon PX barrel (500 litres) leaving a good sherry influence over the years without being too overwhelming. For an extreme sherry nuclear option, see the Glendronach 29 Year Old or 28 Year Old. For a nice happy medium, some of the single casks are a go to & Whisky Situation will expand the range of single casking from Glenallachie due to the demand.
Tasting Notes
Nose Bakewell tart, orange chocolate, and chai spices, with whiffs of honeyed florals.
Palate Crystallised ginger, dried apricot, and summer berries, along with dry wood spices.
Finish Chocolate-coated cherry, and toffee.
