The 18-year-old Glendronach Allardice bears the name of the founder of the Glendronach Distillery James Allardice. The Single Malt completes the so far relatively manageable product range with another first-class whisky aged in sherry casks.
GlenDronach 18 years Allardice is matured in the best Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. GlenDronach 18 years Allardice has complex fruit flavors with hints of walnuts and chocolate.
Tasting Notes
Nose Sherry notes so thick you need a knife to cut them! There's a hint of old rum in there too, with pineapple and brown sugar in tow.
Palate Christmas cake, rum again, chocolate-coated hazelnut, runny honey and a hint of Sauternes.
Finish Fresh blackcurrant, blueberry pancakes with a generous helping of maple syrup.
