Milk & Honey 2017 (bottled 2022) Ex-Islay Single Cask Whisky 3cl Sample
Smoky Israeli single malt, single cask whisky here from the folks at M&H Distillery. The peaty quality of this expression doesn't come from the barley, but the from the cask it was matured in, which previously contained smoky Islay whisky.
Interestingly enough the alcohol content goes down at first and then back up again due to the climate and more evaporation of the water!
This is bottled at a beautifully strong ABV of 67.7% yet still hugely enjoyable. We will leave you to decide which Islay casks were used when you taste this.
Tasting Notes
Nose Tinned peaches, digestive biscuits, floral honey, and smoked oak.
Palate Plenty of citrus and ripe orchard fruits blend with vanilla, cocoa, nectarine, and earthy smoke.
Finish Barrel char, salty peat, and honey flapjacks.
