The history of this whiskey contains both American and European oak and that is noticeable. Dark and deep vanilla mixes with tobacco, berries and cherries, after which the oak adds another depth to the whole.
Tasting Notes
Nose : Semi-sweet, dried fruits (raisins, prunes), nuts, caramel, some cardamom and cloves, sweet oranges, a hint of mint, light herbal.
Palate : Rather dry with some pepperiness, plum jam, caramelized orange zest, herbal notes, soft oak comes later
Finish : Medium-long, dry, nutty, slightly bitter, with leathery and woody notes
