Peerless Double Oak Bourbon Barrel Proof Batch 15 Signed by Master Distiller Hall of Famer Corky Taylor 75cl
We craft our bourbon from grain to bottle. The process takes time,
but we wanted to create an authentic product for you that isn’t found elsewhere.
Exposing Peerless Bourbon to two separate casks allows for two full barrel extractions. The result? Supercharged notes give this whiskey supreme complexity and mouthfeel. Our dedicated tasting team strategically selects barrels with prominent grain, fruit, and herbaceous notes as they are complemented well by the extra barrel character. This ultimately makes for a population of barrels that are packed with flavour, yet balanced enough to uphold the Peerless name.
Tasting Notes
Nose : The nose opens with sweet oak accented with orange zest and cedar. Aromas of tobacco and herbs soon join.
Palate : The first sip leads with a honey sweetness before swiftly shifting to cinnamon and spicy oak. Another sip adds leather for an earthy balance while displaying an amazing body.
Finish : The finish continues to celebrate the viscous mouthfeel with notes of sweet, toasted oak and dry cocoa.
About Peerless
The first Peerless whiskey went into barrel in 1889.
We've revived the craft in our state-of-the-art distillery.
Select Peerless grains are milled, cooked, fermented, double-distilled, and barreled as bourbon and rye under one roof. We invite you to experience every aspect of crafting Kentucky straight bourbon and rye from grain to bottle in downtown Louisville.
Originally operating as Worsham Distilling Company, Kentucky Peerless Distilling Company began in Henderson, Kentucky in the early 1880s. In 1889, Peerless Whiskey production began to flourish under the leadership of the entrepreneur. and our ancestor, Henry Kraver.
Kraver wasted no time making upgrades to machinery and investing in additional warehouses that eventually became U.S. Federally Bonded following the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. Thus, the production of Peerless whiskey raised substantially from eight to over two hundred barrels a day. Through the early 1920s, the Peerless federally-bonded warehouses were used for whiskey storage under the armed protection of the U.S. Government. During Prohibition, Peerless product was one of the few available by prescription for medicinal use. The original Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. was Distilled Spirits Plant (DSP) number 50. Today, we are privileged to have that same number. The newly assigned DSP numbers are in the 20,000s. We are delighted to say DSP-KY-50 is our own.
Not only have Corky and Carson personally revived the Peerless heritage, but they have also restored history by designing and rebuilding the remarkable distillery as it exists in downtown Louisville today. The Peerless distillery is now a state-of-the-art facility with cutting-edge technology, making it one of the most automated distilleries. All under one roof, select Kentucky Peerless grains are milled, cooked, fermented, double-distilled, barreled, and bottled as bourbon and rye whiskey.
