Strathclyde 30 Year Old Douglas Laing Old Particular 1990 Single Refill Barrel (2020) 70cl

1 of 151 bottles only!

This single-grain scotch whisky from Douglas Laing was distilled at the Strathclyde Distillery back in August 1990, and matured over thirty years to be bottled in December 2020.

Tasting Notes

Nose : Wonderfully rich, round and sweet, showing a smidgen of burnt sugar amongst dulcet spice.

Palate : More surprisingly dry earthy spices show ahead of later hard candy, chocolate, toffee and vanilla.

Finish : Catch a hint of oak before the mix of barley sugar, crème brûlée, biscuit and citrus all appear.

About Strathclyde

Strathclyde is a grain whisky distillery in Glasgow, Scotland, founded in 1927, and is the only distillery in the city still producing grain whisky today. While known for its grain spirit, used in blends like Ballantine's, Strathclyde also produces single malt Scotch whisky, most famously Kincaith, under its own distillery label. The distillery primarily uses wheat and employs a distillation system of interconnected sieve tray columns to produce its spirit.
