Very rare bottle released in 2015. Most have been drunk as is normal over in Japan. This one escaped. 15 YO Japanese whisky is not easy to come across either due to the high demand of the public's increasing whisky consumption.

A rare & old bottling, aged for 15 years in oak barrels then in tanks and again in oak barrels and reportedly finished in wine barrels. A very intruiging process

This bottle of Japanese whisky comes from the Sasanokawa Shuzo company and is located in the Fukushima prefecture. Yamazakura distillery itself was closed/merged in 1998. You might be thinking ''Hey! how come it is only a 15 year old?'' That is because some of the whisky was stored in alternative containers for a while before getting finished in fresh bourbon and wine casks. But still some of the malt in this bottle is up to 20 years old. This is one of the few official releases bearing the name ''Yamazakura''.
